‘A STRANGE HOUR IN BUDAPEST’ – STOCKHOLM SCREENING
Judging by the recent sell outs in Copenhagen & Oslo, it seems the Scandinavians are particularly fond of film and the cinema – maybe it’s those long dark winter nights!  Well here’s a chance to cosy up again – we are thrilled to announce another screening in Sweden of ’A STRANGE HOUR IN BUDAPEST‘- this time in Stockholm on Sunday 11th November at Bio Rio.

These presentations accompany Recoil’s Blu-ray release of the full concert film, directed by Attila Herkó.

The Stockholm event is being produced in conjunction with Scandinavian music and home theatre electronics chain Hi-Fi Klubben. (Look out for an

exclusive competition from them which includes free tickets)

Alan Wilder will be in attendance to host a Talk & Q&A session about the ‘Selected Events’ tour and film project. There will be a Meet & Greet opportunity with Alan both before and after the screening – and for sale at the cinemas, we have a very limited amount of deluxe tour editions of the Blu-ray up for grabs!  These are unnumbered but otherwise virtually identical to the editions which completely sold out within the first few days of the pre-order back in June. In addition they can all be individually signed by Alan. See www.store.recoil.co.uk for full product details.

Rio is one of Stockholm’s only surviving single screen cinemas from the 1940s. The cinema was uniquely preserved after a grant was received in 2009 in order to restore and rebuild much of the old environment. Full praise must go to the cultural organisation FHP (Folkets Hus och Parker) for stepping in and reviving the venue. Renovation, installation of digital projectors with the option for 3D film and live link ups to New York’s Metropolitan Opera, plus a bursting film programme aimed directly at increased audience engagement all ensued.

Coupled with a wonderful cafe, a salon with bar, sofa and screens, luminous ceiling, gold curtain and beautiful lighting throughout, Rio’s classic ’40′s style offers us a glimmer of hope for the way things should be. A real palace for cinema, and not just another multiplex supermarket.

This item has now completely sold out and, at this time, will not be re-stocked.  We had intended to produce more but now that the contents of the stick are in the public domain, predictably enough, the inevitable copying and sharing of files via illegal sites has begun. This is what every artist has to contend with these days.  We urge every music fan to stop for a moment and just think each time you share a music file which has not been purchased through official channels.
